Revelation 11
3 I will give [power] to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth.
This is a chart comparing things found in chapter 11 with the descriptions of the 7 angels in chapters 15 and 16 pour out the contents of their bowls. There is significant resonance between these two descriptions, and we might benefit from pondering why this appear to correlate. Listed are similarities and contrasts between these two groups. The parallels are surprisingly numerous

Bowls contain prayers and praises No one could enter the temple until plagues are finished |
Power to shut up the sky |
Great and marvelous sign in the sky Poured bowl on the air |
Not rain during days of their prophecy |
Poured bowl on the sun that scorched with heat No one could enter the temple until plagues are finished |
Power over the waters |
Poured bowl on seas, rivers and springs |
Turned waters into blood |
Turned rivers and springs into blood |
Strike the earth with every plague |
Poured bowl on the earth causing evil sores |
When they finish their testimony |
Wrath of God is finished |
Beast overcomes and kills them |
They overcame the beast and all his ID They poured out the blood of saints and prophets |
Beast from the abyss makes war with them |
They praise God's works, ways and identity Poured bowl on throne of the beast |
Their dead bodies will be in the street |
They stand of the sea of glass mixed with fire |
The street of the great city |
The great city splits into 3 parts |
The nations look at their dead bodies |
All nations will come and worship before you |
Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them |
They glorify God's reputation and integrity People blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues |
Give gifts to one another |
One of the creatures gives bowls to the 7 angels |
Prophets viewed as tormenting those on earth |
Poured out censers cause reactions of torment assumed to be coming from God |
Breath of life entered into them |
The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God |
Great fear fell on those who saw them |
Who wouldn't fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? |
I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them |
I heard a loud voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels |
They went up into heaven in the cloud |
The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power |
A great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell |
A great earthquake, such as was not since there were men on the earth, so great an earthquake, so mighty. The great city was divided into three parts |
Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake |
Great hailstones, about the weight of a talent, came down out of the sky on people |
The rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven |
People blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail |
The seventh angel sounded.... great voices in heaven followed, saying, The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ |
The seventh poured out his bowl... A loud voice came forth out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" |
The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God's throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God |
People blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, for this plague is exceedingly severe ...who worshiped the beast and his image |
We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned |
People blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn't repent and give him glory |
The nations were angry, and your wrath came |
the seven last plagues, for in them God's wrath is finished |
Time for the dead to be judged |
You only are holy. Your righteous acts have been revealed. You are righteous, who are and who were, you Holy One, because you have judged these things |
To destroy those who destroy the earth |
They poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. They deserve this |
God's temple that is in heaven was opened, the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple |
The temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened |
Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed |
Lightnings, sounds, and thunders; and there was a great earthquake. Great hailstones came down out of the sky on people |
